The new industrial unit and office hall of RATI is the very first industrial development in Hungary that needs no outer energy supply. What is even more, it is soon producing surplus energy. The owner of the company specialized in producing spare parts for car-bodies and the architects decided as soon as the idea occurred to them that on this ploughland such a building should be built that does not only house proper workplace and well-organized logistical and manufacturing centre, but also represents a responsible and exemplary approach to construction, planning, work organization and industry. Kistelegdi and his fellow architects set out to work in the spirit of the most important challenges of the 21st century with the aim to reach the maximum degree of energy-efficiency possible. Regarding the result, this industrial unit will ensure almost almost 80% savings regarding its whole life-cycle and also sustain an environment in which people can work much more efficiently.
