Some of the ancient, 7 million years old trees found in summer, 2007 in B\u00fckk\u00e1br\u00e1ny are exhibited in the Ipolytarn\u00f3c Fossils Nature Reserve, whilst the four trees transported to the Herman Ott\u00f3 Museum in Miskolc have proven sensational enough to house a new science wing here. Relying upon the power full call of the Methuselah trees, clients dreamed up a structure reinforcing the new museum function with forms suggesting a tourist \u201eattraction\u201d. However, the wing also had to house further rooms for science shows and education. Hadas Studio was commissioned to design the building inaugurated in November, 2013. Mih\u00e1ly Rudolf architect densely interspersed the new building with symbolic references characteristic of his modest style. The symmetrical structure clad in limestone from S\u00fctt\u0151 meant in front of the street facade of Herman Ott\u00f3 Museum was built a level lower, adjusting to the base level of the existing house at the roofline. At first sight, it looks hardly more than a parapet, platform or an ascent staircase. Exhibition rooms take up more than half of the new wing whilst it houses the necessary engineering and service areas and a lecture hall.<\/p>\n
