Ybl Bicentenary, National Opera House<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since its foundation in 1953, the prize named after Mikl\u00f3s Ybl was now, in 2014 for the first time handed over in the Budapest Opera House, one of the most significant buildings of the architect to J\u00e1nos J\u00e1nosi, Andr\u00e1s Kov\u00e1ts, P\u00e9ter Pottyondy, Ferenc Potzner, Tiham\u00e9r Szalay, Gy\u00f6rgy Szeg\u0151, Judit Anna Gerencs\u00e9r Ms. Szente-Varg\u00e1n\u00e9, Imre Szuromi and Endre Sz\u0171cs<\/strong>. The series of programmes in honour of Ybl in 2014 as well as its initiator and organizer J\u00falia Szmodits (Ybl Association) received a ministerial tribute. \u201eOur task is not only remembrance and the preservation and presentation of our heritage, but also the celebration of of our age and excellent contemporary creators whose works and talents earn both our capital and country a worldwide recognition much int he same way as Mikl\u00f3s Yvbl did in his own time\u201d \u2013 said Mikl\u00f3s R\u00e9thelyi, the chairman of UNESCO\u2019s Hungarian National Committee at the celebration commemorating the 200th anniversary of Ybl\u2019s birth. Mikl\u00f3s R\u00e9thelyi reminded us of the fact that the 200th anniversary of Mikl\u00f3s Ybl\u2019s birth and the 100th anniversary of \u00d6d\u00f6n Lechner\u2019s death is v\u00e9dn\u00f6k\u00f6l by the UNESCO which actually means that both architects are commemorated in each member state of the UN.<\/p>\n
