\u201eVariations of a Motif by Makovecz\u201d, might as well have been a fitting title for my short article, as the new day nursery in Csillaghegy is a modified version of the one in B\u00faza Street, Mak\u00f3 designed by Imre Makovecz regarding both its floor plan and overall formation. As far as the building in Csillaghegy is concerned, Imre Makovecz won the tender published by the local authority of District 3 Budapest in 2011 and thus went for designs himself but his strength soon failed him and finally asked Diana Mike, a young architect working for his team as an undergraduate. After the death of Makovecz, his long-time fellow architect, \u00c1gnes Krav\u00e1r took over the project. A peaceful area also in terms of architecture, Csillaghegy is a suburban garden city. The well-proportioned building majestically grows out from the relatively large site and turns with a friendly facade towards the street with its porch outside the entrance gate. Overlooking the elongated U-shaped and porticoed yard, the rooms with educational functions are octagonal, skylit and crowned with a cupola \u2013 all of which also feature the baths complex designed by Makovecz in Mak\u00f3.<\/p>\n
