XXS Pavilions, Alm\u00e1di Yacht Club, Balatonalm\u00e1di <\/strong><\/p>\n

Although the well-known forms of this pavilion re-occur in gardens as repeated visual signs, designing it was quite a challenge for contemporary architecture, much in the same way as the design work of every structure typically constructed as part of the architects’ daily routine. Architects of NARTARCHITECTS, namely Csaba Kov\u00e1cs, Tamara Po\u00f3s, Eszter Gyuris and \u00c1ron Vass-Eysen, received this commission after they had finished the reconstruction project of the building housing the Alm\u00e1di Yacht Club. Now their task was to design a row of pavilions right in front of the harbour, beneath the trees casting their shadows on the road that connects the pier and the building. What the client had in mind was actually a venue where people returning after sailing could have a rest and meet each other independently of extreme weather conditions. Besides, he also wanted to have a garden extension to house and store workout equipment in winter. Architects worked out their concept accordingly in a genuinely 21st-century style which still preserves the classical functions of the pavilions complementing it with the chance to comfortably experience the landscape by connecting the natural and man-made environment. The three pavilions are adjusted to the faculties of the site as much as possible and are literally built to nestle up to the trees of the garden, whilst opening wide vistas towards Lake Balaton and the harbour owing to their structure and orientation.<\/p>\n
