The Reconstruction of the Former L\u2019Huillier-Coburg Mansion, Edel\u00e9ny<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located in Edel\u00e9ny, the former L\u2019Huillier-Coburg mansion is one of the earliest and brightest examples of the Baroque style in Hungary. Its well-proportioned dimensions and beauty excel it to rank amongst the best architectural works in both the history of art and architectural history of Hungary. What is even more, it would also excel as one of the best examples of mansion architecture all over Europe. Left to its destiny, this real gem of architecture has now been restored to its former glory and pompous exterior after a period of decay spanning over 285 years. Besides lots of money spent on the project, this beautiful achievement is the result of the hard work of people working modestly on the reconstruction for years. They had to work modestly as contemporary architecture only shows itself in the form of a newly built pedestrian bridge with a design integrating two parallel crescents and a reception building nestling into the side of the dam, and consistently, because the reconstruction targeted to restore the original architectural character of the Baroque-style structure. The two-storey main building with a U-plan does not only excel from similar mansions in Hungary because of its precious interior murals but also features exceptional details which are uniquely spectacular. <\/p>\n
