From the very beginning of the Protestant movement till today, a large number of architects, art historians and theologists have dealt with the issues concerning the appropriate design and spatial configurations of a Protestant church, how the architecture of these buildings evolved throughout the centuries, what kind of consequences can be drawn from the suitability of the already existing forms. Church building is a communal event which conveys cultural characteristics \u2013 thus it plays a role in mediating and shaping identity. The comprehensive analysis below offers a typological background covering the architectural features of two centuries of church building activities.<\/p>\n
