The New Hegyvid\u00e9k Art Gallery, Budapest<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded by the local government of District XII, Budapest, Hegyvid\u00e9k Art Gallery started its activities in 1998 at No. 16 V\u00e1rosmajor Street. In 2014 it was obvious that it is going to move from its home which was neither modern, nor worthy of its prestige. The local government published a contest for the MA students of MOME Institute of Architecture. As a result, the Gallery moved to Kir\u00e1lyh\u00e1g\u00f3 Square at the beginning of 2017 into a modern exhibition facility. The winning project was a joint design submitted by Zolt\u00e1n Kal\u00e1szi and M\u00e1rton Pint\u00e9r, with graphic arts by Katalin Boromissza. The applicants defined a white cube style exhibition space in their scheme in which space offers a neutral framework for the undisturbed reception of the art works on display. Bordered by white walls, this space with evenly distributed light and cast concrete floors guarantees that moving around in these rooms is an adventurous experience in itself.<\/p>\n
