The Special College of Architecture<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Special College of Architecture is one of the organisations of the numerous specialist colleges working within the Budapest University of Technology. Almost every single faculty of each university has similar organisations but they tend to function in their own individual ways. The one named after Bercs\u00e9nyi was launched in 1996 with the goal to preserve the cultural heritage and spirit of the Bercs\u00e9nyi College. The latter was the starting point of cultural life at this university back in the 1960s which attracted students specialized in architecture as well as each segment of contemporary art life. The autonomy of the university guaranteed an intellectual atmosphere born in the Bercs\u00e9nyi College which welcomed and fostered trends and ideas of contemporary architecture and art that were rated as radical or even prohibited back in those days.<\/p>\n
