Concept and text: Bence P\u00e9ter T\u00f3th <\/strong><\/p>\n

The handshake of vernacular and contemporary architecture is the plan for me. The brick, earth and adobe architecture, thatching and whitewashed walls naturally co-operated with nature. I slid this house onto the shore of the quarry pond of the former brick factory and had it built from locally found materials (adobe bricks, small-size solid brick, thatching, thermal insulation of reed planks). It is shaped like a plum pits, one tip of which is the entrance, whilst the other is the exit. The building reaches its highest point where it is necessary: the centrally positioned classroom. The two ends of the house smooth back towards the reeds, the structure is approachable from behind. The whole building is sunken into the soil. The eaves projecting more than 5 metres now are homes to barn swallows and house martins, whilst the built loess walls contain nests of sand martins and bee-eaters. In wintertime we can facilitate singing-birds by setting up feeders.<\/p>\n
