Pedestrian and Bike Tisza Bridge, Szolnok<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the urban rehabilitation of Szolnok the banks of the River Tisza \u201ecould be returned\u201d and the district called Tiszaliget on the other side could be connected to the inner city. Defended with a circular dam, the area on the left-hand bank has developed into one suitable for spending our free time. In order to improve life quality and to advance developments the idea of constructing a pedestrian-and-bike bridge over the river popped up. This structure had been completed by the end of 2010 and the bridge itself was inaugurated and opened for traffic on January 21st in 2011. The result is an object d\u2019art inspired by the motif of a mayfly: the arches of span over the riverbed lean outward, the tracery of the planes of their cables symbolize wings, whilst the stiffening girders divided with grilles refer to the mayfly\u2019s ribbed body continued in the \u201etail-part\u201d of the longer access from the direction of the city. The bridge is technically made up of a 186 metre long steel structure span over the riverbed joined by ferro-concrete access bridges equipped with pedestrian stairs, a ramp for bikers and an elevator to clear the way on both sides.<\/p>\n
