Hungary has participated in these biennales since the very beginning.The permanent home of its exhibitions, the art gallery called the Hungarian House was completed 100 years ago, in 1909. On the centenary a conference titled \u201eThe Venice Biennale and the Functioning of Biennales\u201d was held in Budapest on April 16th, organized by the Budapest-based Art Gallery (M\u0171csarnok) responsible for the realization of exhibitions of fine art and architecture and the Bienn\u00e1l\u00e9 Office. Lectures, archive photographs and the most recent images shown during the \u201ecritical discourse\u201d along with additional materials are also published continuously on the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.velenceibiennale.com\/\">www.velenceibiennale.com<\/a>.
