A few years ago a two-storey house built in Ferencv\u00e1ros (Budapest) in 1860 with a character in the revivalist Classical style was demolished to be replaced by a 8 storey residential building containing 78 units, a 3-storey underground car park and storages, which significantly increased the density of development and population. The two-storey block from the street and the yard is connected with a three-storey corridor link, which also improves the light conditions of the neighbouring yard. The apartments have views of both the garden of the yard and the green roof gardens. The asymmetrical design of the street front, the repetition of the identical components with changes in their positioning, the slightly withdrawn ground-floor entrance, the black perforated steel-sheet doors and coverings as well as the units\u2019 balconies with tempered safety glazed parapets and the protruding black steel-plated balcony frames with the height of the storeys and the balcony vegetation shown in the designs srikingly deviate from the classicist streetscape as they are deliberately contrasted with the 19th-century facades surrounding them.<\/p>\n
