New Estonian Architecture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Exhibition produced by the Estonian Centre of Architecture<br \/>\nFUGA, Budapest, 7-27 May 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curator: Pille Epner<br \/>\nTeam: Karli Luik, Margit Mutso, Inga Raukas<br \/>\nDesign: Inga Raukas<\/p>\n<p>BOOM\/ROOM presents\u2009outstanding\u2009examples\u2009of\u2009contemporary\u2009architecture\u2009from\u2009Estonia\u2009which\u2009interact\u2009in\u2009a\u2009special\u2009way\u2009with\u2009the\u2009urban\u2009context.\u2009The\u2009exhibition\u2009deals\u2009with\u2009the\u2009building\u2009boom\u2009in\u2009the\u2009Baltic\u2009Republic\u2009since\u2009the\u2009mid\u20091990\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2009the\u2009course\u2009of\u2009rapid\u2009economic\u2009growth\u2009between\u20092000\u2009and\u20092008,\u2009the\u2009appearance\u2009and\u2009atmosphere\u2009of\u2009Estonia\u2019s\u2009cities\u2009transformed\u2009decidedly.\u2009At\u2009the\u2009same\u2009time\u2009the dream\u2009of\u2009many\u2009Estonians\u2009came\u2009true:\u2009to\u2009work\u2009in\u2009a\u2009large\u2009western-style\u2009city\u2009and\u2009to\u2009live\u2009in\u2009a\u2009private\u2009home\u2009with\u2009a\u2009garden.\u2009However,\u2009in\u2009consequence\u2009of\u2009the\u2009fast-paced\u2009building\u2009activities\u2009and\u2009inadequate\u2009planning\u2009principles,\u2009in\u2009many\u2009places\u2009fragmented\u2009urban\u2009spaces\u2009emerged.\u2009For\u2009this\u2009reason\u2009the\u2009architects\u2019\u2009responsibility\u2009to\u2009\u2009create\u2009new\u2009buildings\u2009with\u2009a\u2009high\u2009spatial,\u2009cultural\u2009and\u2009social\u2009quality\u2009is\u2009all\u2009the\u2009more\u2009important.<\/p>\n<p>BOOM\u2009\/\u2009ROOM\u2009therefore\u2009shows\u2009successful\u2009Estonian\u2009architecture which\u2009interacts\u2009with\u2009the\u2009user\u2009and\u2009the\u2009surroundings\u2009by\u2009creating\u2009new\u2009types\u2009of\u2009urban\u2009movement, communication\u2009and\u2009living.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8546\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8546\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/meonline.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/boom_rooom1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"boom_rooom\" width=\"600\" height=\"634\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8546\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meonline.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/boom_rooom1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/meonline.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/boom_rooom1-141x150.jpg 141w, https:\/\/meonline.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/boom_rooom1-283x300.jpg 283w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-8546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Apartment building in Tallinn.
