Opened this summer, MyZeil is the latest sensation of Zeil, the shopping street of Frankfurt. Built among four highrises, it covers an area of more than 77,000 m2 with seven storeys including entertaning venues, shops and restaurants awaiting visitors who come in large numbers as they can enjoy a unique spatial experience besides the usual joys of consumers. Although they were not the first highrises in the centre of Frankfurt destroyed with bombs in World War II, the four towers still represent a unique type of architecture the specialty of which is embodied by the structure they embrace. The four blocks are connected by MyZeil designed by Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas. Enveloped in a glass net, it is a building of spectacle. As the amorphous form of the roof was inspired by a natural geological phenomenon, its designers named it The Canyon.
