On the initiative of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, the Hungarian Parliament established the Artist of the Nation Award, now the most prestigious Hungarian artistic award, to honour the personal achievements of outstanding representatives of the Hungarian artistic life and to ensure their dignified living conditions. In 2024, Attila Ferenczfy-Kovács, architect, interior designer and visual designer, Antal Lázár, architect, and Gábor Mezei, interior designer and furniture designer, were named Artists of the Nation.
