The University Training of Settlement and Country Planning

The self-contained five-year training of urbanistics at university level was first launched in Hungary in 2003. Establishing the new major was the result of a longish struggle – according to some architects it is only an auxiliary science of architecture. As changes concerning the conditions of practising the profession took place and the transformation of he large institutes specialized in city planning involved their break-up, the most important „in-service training” worskhops of urbanistics slimmed down too.
