Similarly to other towns by Lake Balaton, Siófok is associated by many of us with bathing, sunshine, relaxation and mediterranean atmosphere. Its name has been linked with tourism since the 19th century. With the programmes being enriched year by year and the changes in the habits of relaxation the need to identify the settlements made it necessary to design a genuine urban main square. The centre of the resort place received a facelift in 2011, and there is now an authentic 21st-century main square around the Water Tower.
