In the spring of 2011 the city of Belgrade published a one-turn international architectural design contest titled The Complex Waterfront Development of the river Sava with the objective to reinterpret and improve the waterfront nexus of the Serbian capital and establish a new reception site by anchoring a contemporary architectural sign near the historic core in an area with heavy pedestrian traffic. The dockyard named Beton Hala was built on the bank of the River Sava in 1936-37 as part of the complex revitalization project of the port with lively commercial activities. The priority of the architectural design contest was to review this as well as its environment according to functional, aesthetic and transportation concerns. As a result, two award-winning designs have been born and selected.

    Award-winning designs:

ARCVS – Branislav Redžić, Dragan Ivanović, Zoran Milovanović, Zoran Đorović, Vesna Milojević, Boris Husanović, Marko Todorović, Predrag Stefanović, Sreto Kuzmanović
