Koforidua in Ghana has a primary school where students have their education in an overcrowded store building, as well as on the corridors learn and under a shabby tin-roof. A team of voluntary Hungarian architects are making attempts to change this situation. They made the concepts for the extension of the school in 2016 in a contemporary spirit that also respect the values of local architecture. It contains simple low-tech solutions adapted to the climate, and is this cost-efficiently sustainable. Priorities of the design stage were the pasive cooling and ventillation of the building, the use of local building materials as well as the passive utilization of solar power.
