The Israelite cemetery in Salgótarjáni Street

Being invited by ICOMOS Deutschland to the international conference organized in Berlin titled Jewish cemeteries and funeral culture in Europe (Jüdische Friedhöfe und Bestattungskultur in Europa) I presented the Israelite cemetery in Salgótarjáni Street on April 5th, 2011. I was amazed to see how many of the participants knew about it and were desperate when realizing how badly neglected it is now. They encouraged me to initiate the preparation for having it enlisted as a World Heritage Site of Hungary.
