Székesfehérvár is a city with the authorities and rights of a county. The project described here is a site north of the Inner City, in the Upper City, and the structures are parts of a complex of historic buildings in Sörház – the remains of the former Brewery-Mill and the miller’s house, which is located north of them. The architectural programme was meant to construct a „music house” by making use of the wall remains of the 17th-century Baroque-style water mill built on medieval foundations, which would also contain a jazz club on the cellar level, primarily for the students of the neighbouring Art Department of János Kodolányi College, as well as a music room furnished in the loft, as well as to rehabilitate the former miller’s house built as an extension to the mill itself. This structure received its final design in the 19th century and is now transformed so as to host musicians who perform in the music room.
