Based in Kecskemét, János Neumann University was founded by uniting several colleges of the Great Hungarian Plain in 2000. In Autumn 2019 the first unit of the campus was opened for the university to house the Faculty of Economics on an area of 1,1 acres of the 5,5 acres of the development. Another five buildings will be built to embrace the inner park of the campus. According to the scheme the style will be homogenuous: white, round-off building objects completed and accentuated with a lookout tower shall dominate the view. The park of the campus offers a transparent order of the building now completed when entering the airy and spacious assembly hall which mediates between two wings of the building: the northern part of the auditoriums, and the southern section of the departments. The homogenuous appearance contains complexity, a mass and spaces characterized by right angles and arches. Viewed from the outside, a facade cladding embraces the building-object which is not a house-like one, but a designed novelty. In the interior the mass of the imposing large hall is defined by arches and can be extended by two smaller circular auditoriums to seat as many as 300 or even 500 people. The extension is facilitated by the swivelling stage technology.
