Being modernized, Debrecen is definitely turning into a large city, for which it will need more and more buildings with the appropriate faculties and spirituality. It has not had so far such a top category office block which has only appeared in Budapest in the business sphere. Now there is one, the very first in the countryside. Located between the city centre and the Great Forest (Nagyerdő), on the periphery of the zones developed closer and airier, almost on the green belt, Forest Offices were designed by BORD Architects Studio. Easy to make a tour of, the glass cube has the potentials to show off from every angle. It was built after a concept that introduces a highly contemporary structure into this context of mixed character. A continuous dent-motif wraps round the facade of the exterior shell forming a V shape which results from the rhythmic alternation of the two-faced glass expanse, which is partly transparent and partly reflective. Forest Offices provide everything which one may expect today of workplaces like this: it provides a comfortable, environment-aware, energy-efficient, sustainable context for those working here.
