The new mansion is an addition to the suburban streetscape featuring traditional detached houses: it is actually located beneath a „green carpet”. Architects with Artgroup, Csilla Nagy and Zoltán Tóth had the task to build it on an almost ideal site (northern street facade, slightly inclined and longitudinal lot sloping south-southeast), the client fully trusted them, financial means were unlimited to realize the highest standards, and there was enough time for the project, which all in all meant a fortunate constellation. The inclination of the terrain is not homogeneously or evenly divided along the length of the site, as it affects the northern third facing the street, and then more gently slopes down eastward. The concept of the design work may have focussed on a slight compromise on the ideal conditions. As the clients wanted a single-storey house, it was only viable at a deeper level than that of the street – in order to upkeep favourable garden connections –, designers made a decision to construct the whole building beneath the street terrain level, not only the living-communal functions. As a result of this, the flat roof of the house shall appear as a green roof.
