Remodelled Office Block in Kossuth Square, Budapest
Results of the Open Concept Tender
The Office of the Hungarian Parliament published the results of the tender for concepts to remodel the office block at No. 6-8 Kossuth Square on December 14th, 2015. Designs based on architectural concepts to work out the facades and mass formation were invited. The call for the contest was meant to make designs of architectural concepts included the designs for after being remodelled, the structure shall house certain units of the offices of the Parliament. Several works submitted involved components that could be used in later design stages of the same project. As a result, the jury chose only a total of 17 designs awarding them by purchasing. According to the overall evaluation given by the jury, the most difficult part of the task was to create a facade harmonizing the rhythm of the Revivalist style of the six-storey building joining it and the seven-storey frame of the building inaugurated in 1972.
