Light Architecture
Márk Péter Vargha – Architectural photo of the Year 2012 – 1st Prize
I grew up in the eighties among the remains of degradable mining industry, and the ruins of the industrial buildings of the twentieth century in Tatabánya. Mine towers, tram tracks, two thermal power plants, coal classification and all kind of powerful, concrete and steel facilities. At first I worked as a software developer, when I started dealing with writing, theater, photography and filming.
I studied film production and media design the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest. In the summer before graduation I worked in a short film shooting as a cameraman for the Hello Wood project. I have met several architects, including Sporaarchitects (Tibor Dékány, Ádám Hatvani). They invited me to prepare my graduation film in their office. At that time they worked on the stations of the Metro4 at the Gellért Square and the Fővám Square. My consultant was József Tasnádi.
The results of my work are not just photos, but also films:
Muliple exposure simulations:
Metro 4, Budapest, color mixing
Metro 4, Budapest, Fővám Square, P+1
