As a result of the multitude of children and rising standards of expectations, Szigetszentmiklós has grown out of its existing cultural and community institutions and facilities. When the local government published a new tender for a would-be education and sports complex, they did not mean to insert it into the fabric of the town at the cost of enforced compromises, but had a site chosen for it where there had been nothing before. The geographical directions of development were thus defined in line with the basic interests of the community: sports, education and culture pushed the borders of the town further on to be followed by the developments of all the other projects. Szigetszentmiklós decided to replace the surrounding corn-fields for a kindergarten, school, and music school, as well as a sports centre that can function as a community centre and an events hall. The end of 2012 saw the inauguration of the kindergarten and the sports hall named after Kossuth-prized composer, Jenő Ádám, and by the time the children attending the kindergarten go for their summer holiday, the construction of the schools will also start.
