A Point of Intersection
A Drive-in Restaurant, Galway, Ireland

With motor traffic towards the sea, a nearby shopping centre, the industrial park and a cheap hotel, the parking lot and the periphery of the horizon the eastern margins of the town do not offer very attractive environmental conditions to designers. Paul Dillon and Zsolt Zsuffa, however, relied upon the fact that there is no room for adjustment here. So instead they marked the site as a kind of gate evoking the architectural traditions of the nearby town. The concept resulted in a mass of clear forms with simple materials and proportions offering a secure place and a shelter for a short stop and rest in the intersections of the directions of space.
