The Owner of the First Degree in Architecture from the Budapest University of Technology István Kiss born 160 ago
István Kiss (1857–1902) was the first to receive a degree in architecture after graduating in 1880 from the University of Technology in the history of this institution. With his oeuvre he enriched architecture not only in Hungary but also internationally with buildings that have evolved into landmark sights of Hungarian cityscapes. With his works and career as a teacher he marked a progressive tendency for later generations of architects reaching far beyond into the 20th century. And besides all this, the development scheme of a settlement called Pestszentlőrinc which is today part of the 18th district of Budapest is also part of his oeuvre.
