Detached Family Houses Typology Designs
A Survey of History

Approved in 2015, the national architecture policy defined the necessity of improving the standards of detached family houses yet to be constructed and thus the elaboration of typology designs accordingly. The history of standard designs goes back to more than a century in Hungary; the houses built as a result of the periods of subsequent designs have predominantly defined the overall architectural image of settlements.
Design of various motifs and character also have some lessons for us: working out the recommendations of a new design is the most important step when creating an appropriate programme for which we must be familiar with the contemporary requirements as well as the experiences of the past. This article surveys the 20th-century history of typology and standard designs proposed for detached family houses.
