Péter Haba Receiving Opus Mirabile

The Art History Science Board of the Hungarian Science Academy launched its Opus Mirabile award in 1995 to recognize the best publications on art history in the previous year. Initially, the board assessed two categories, but for quite a long time now it has also been employing three. After their assessment, members of the board evaluate the most excellent works at a ceremonial meeting in the Academy building. Now the 26th such occasion postponed a year due to the pandemic was held on December 10th, 2021 to honour the awarded authors of the year 2019. In the category of monographies that have ben written by a single author Péter Haba’s monography titled publications titled Hungarian Industrial Architecture 1945-1970 (published by Terc Kiadó) received a huge number of votes.
