The world celebrates the 500th anniversary of Luther’s action in 2017. The Memorial Year of Reformation has activated cultural and religious life in Hungary too. Some of the commemorations were significant for architecture and townscapes and cityscapes. Moreover, it communicates the relationship between city- and towndwellers and the spirituality of reformation. In autumn 2016, the Reformation Memorial Committee published a call for a public installation. The first prize went to the designs submitted by Levente Szabó and Ákos Polgárdi Ákos, based on which the most exciting project of the Memoral Year was realized in Kálvin Square in Budapest in May, 2017: it is an installation embedded in the pavement near the Calvinist church.
