SHARE Network has been a platform for architects and contractors in Central and South-Eastern Europe for 25 years, with events organized in 16 countries. The 7th Hungarian conference took place on 6th June at the Budapest Music Center focussed on the theme “Facades of the future: sustainable design and performance”. Balázs Csapó, architect, founder and managing director of PARAGRAM Studio, moderated the intense programme. After the welcoming speeches, 17 presentations delivered in 3 blocks, 3 of which were presentations of manufacturing companies whilst the rest was about architectural projects. The conference featured internationally renowned speakers such as Zoltán Neville from the French Coldefy Architects, Andrea D’Antrassi from MAD architects in China, Thierry Damez-Fontaine from French 2Portzamparc, MVRDV from the Netherlands, NextOffice from Iran, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, as well as architects from Italy, Greece, Slovenia and Slovakia. They were joined by three Hungarian speakers, András Dobos of Lab5 Architects, Tibor Germán of Paragram Studio and Csaba Nagy of Archikon, who presented recent works by architects studios. The conference presented a broad overview of new trends in architecture. In addition to formal potentials and possibilities, there were examples of how to preserve old values and how to integrate nature into the built environment for livability and sustainability – alternating between small and large, distant and nearby examples.
