The architects’ team of Kas Oosterhuis is working out designs for the new complex of CET to be housed in the building of the Warehouses in Budapest. This visionary or non-standard architecture made its first appearance in Hungary with the project referred to as „glass whale” by the public. Besides reviving the Warehouses – erected ont he Danube bank in the late 1880s and seriously damaged in World War II – with a new function, it also offers a large-scale spectacle covered with a steel and glass structure. Having a total area of 27,000 square metres, the interior of the „glasswhale” and the two store buildings flanking it now house commercial, cultural and entertaining functions: there are business premises, boutiques, bars, restaurants as well as a programme centre suited for 1,500 people and a two-storey underground garage beneath them.
