Danube Olympics 2020

On December 16th 2008 the Municipal Body of Representatives of Budapest unanimously supported the draft bill allowing for the tender in which Budapest applies to organize the 2020 Olympic Games in 2011 in accordance with the programme entitled „The Olympics of the World Heritage along the Islands of the Danube”. In case the parliament accepts the draft Hungary shall have a fair chance of organizing the summer olympics in 2020. The Department of Urbanism at BME (Budatest Technical University) published a tender entitled „Olympics 2020” inviting students to contribute to the preparation and the successful realization of the law.
