  • The New Office Block of Pannon

Pannon has not had a genuine centre in Hungary so far, so its employees worked in several office buildings scattered about. In 2005 the management made a decision to have a new centre built with Telenor, the owner of the international trust and acquired a vacant – actually virgin – lot at the western gate of Budapest. Designers tried their best to maximally exploit the new possibilities offered by the greenfield situation. The basic criteria for the centre were transparency, permeability, inner interactivity and direct communication with the environment. Revealing itself firstly, the airy and imposing multi-storey aula space is the heart of the office complex not only in the architectural meaning of the word, but also physically. The office units suited for the purposes of one working group of 30-40 people respectively, are strung onto this aula space the same way on every storey, just like the fingers of a hand, to be further differentiated within, and thus shaping mittens and gloves with two, three and four fingers each.
