Budapest Municipal Government and Budapest Chamber of Architects published this year once again a joint contest titled the Budapest Architectural Award of Merit 2018 in order to promote and facilitate the development of architectural and environmental culture. The special task of the contest was to recognise and promote architectural works defining the cityscape, to introduce the exemplary co-operations of the participants of the high-standard designs and creations. The Budapest Architectural Award of Merit was awarded to two buildings in 2018: the Customer Service Centre in Kőbánya (District X) and the Reception Building of Graphisoft Park in Óbuda. Appraisals went to the New Hegyvidéki Gallery (District XII), the historic main building of Palatinus Open-Air Baths, the GP offices for Children and Adults (District X) and the P+R Parking Space and Pavilion in Őrmező (District XI).
