CLT construction method is becoming more and more widespread in Hungary, with buildings being constructed using this modern technology. It is perhaps not an exaggeration to say that the Bártfai-Horváth office is leading the way, having designed a crèche, a hunting lodge and now a new specialist clinic in Budakeszi using CLT technology. The location, entrance and orientation of the building already take into account the concept of the new urban space. A narrow mass has been created on the edge of the existing space. It avoids excessive “nerdiness” and its forms reflect the future character of the new urban space. It reacts to its surroundings via subtle gestures and movements, marking directions and accents around itself. The use of plastic sheet metal cladding and palette also contribute to its exterior appearance. On entering it, the CLT timber structure is already visible, which is not only useful as a supporting structure, but also provides a welcoming wall expanse lacking additional cladding. The CLT staircase leading upstairs is a real speciality and a structural feat, almost defying the laws of physics.
