The vision for the expansion of the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Pécs, which began with the construction of a new, modern wing, goes far beyond the boundaries of the complex itself. In fact, it is the first part of an urban planning vision that looks a hundred years ahead. The extension is not just a new wing, but a gesture at the environmental and urban level. When we look at the positioning of the new theoretical block, we can see a clear urban design intention: the new mass, although it is derived from the old block in terms of forms, nevertheless embraces the park. The arch of the building is focused on the decorative garden, which openly emerges as the centre of the whole block (and of the neighbourhood). The double storey hides a high ground-floor lobby and seating facing the green surface for the entire length of the building. The interior space is also clean and functional: there is centrally located circulation between levels, large lecterns facing inwards on the central axis, shared use spaces opening outwards, and more modest size, bright group rooms and laboratories joining the facade.
