    Ybl Miklós Prize 2013

    Founded in 1953 and redefined in 1992, the Ybl Prize is the most prestigious architectural recognition in Hungary which is awarded for creative activities contributing to the construction and shaping of local environment as well as the preservation of values.
    This year’s Ybl Prize has gone to:

    Dr. Bálint Bachmann DLA the dean of the Pécs University, Mihály Pollack Technical and IT Faculty – for the high-standard buildings he designed and constructed, for his career as a lecturer, for founding and managing the Marcel Breuer Doctoral School and for his work as a trustee of the Hungarian Pavilion of the 13th Venice Architectural Biennale.

    Dr. Marcel István Ferencz DLA the lecturer of Debrecen University, Technical Faculty, Department of Architecture, the designer of the Pro Architectura Prize Hun Baths – for his contribution to the Hungarian Pavilion of the 2010 Venice Architectural Biennale as an architect and co-trustee, his functions in the public and his work as a university lecturer.

    Ágnes Kravár retired architect and senior designer – the architect of the residential building in Domonkos court, Sopron, the Castle Hotel in Kőszeg and King Stephen’s Hotel in Pécsvárad whose designs and works are continuations of the architectural heritage of Károly Kós and Imre Makovecz.

    Csaba Molnár DLA the associate professor of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Design, an architect awarded the Károly Kós Prize – for his respect for traditions, his high-standard professional achievements, the rationality revealed by the buildings he designed and his contribution to the education of architectural graphics as well as the reconstruction of the Eszterházy Castle in Fertőd.
