Just Architecture
An Experimental Exhibition in the Swiss Architectural Museum
Text: Vilmos Katona
On October 18th the Swiss Architectural Museum based in Basel offered leeway for an international movement looking for a way out for three days. During this time a window was opened from the representative rooms of the Kunsthalle into a reality yet to take shape. The exhibition was prepared by the Hochschule Luzern Design & Kunst which presented its programme in an open tender as its first step. Entrepreneurs had to introduce their ideas in short films with the objective to break throught the limits of genres in architectural tendering, to revise the role of the jury and to allow the inner criteria of tender applications to prevail. Competitiveness was replaced by coordination and dialogue, during which even the jury could take part in the process of designing.
