Liget Project Landscape Design Contest
A Survey of the Winning Schemes
Városliget Zrt. published a design contest calling for landscape designs in January, 2016 for the City Park, Budapest, which is to be developed in a comprehensive way, being the very first public park of Europe. Schemes are expected to present values of the area for garden history, as well as to integrate contemporary design with a modern approach – with regard to the results of the international architectural design contests as well as to the current regulations referring to the renovation of the existing institutions and their tasks as described by governmental decrees. A total of seven applications were submitted for the tender. The jury of professionals, the majority of the members being alandscape architecst themselves selected unanimously that No. 1. is that of Garten Studio Ltd. Kft., whilst the Lépték-Terv came second and the third best ones Pagony Táj- és Kertépítész Iroda and s73 office. We are presenting the first three schemes below.
