East Centric Architecture Triennale
Arhitext design Foundation, editor of Arhitext magazine, launches an open call for the selection of the projects to be presented at the Trans(ap)parencies Thematic Exhibition, at the 2013 East Centric Architecture Triennale.
The thematic exhibition is organised:
– As an exercise of articulation of a critical approach regarding the contemporary architectural phenomenon in the region
– To illuminate, and to make visible and readable the vanishing lines/lines of force of the discourse at the level of architecture objects, as well as at the level of theoretical and critical approaches.
– To identify approaches and discourses evincing particularities, local/regional shades of meaning and specificities, which would allow us to make an easier/more balanced comparison with architectural phenomena worldwide
To identify, verify and validate answers/local solutions regarding the satisfaction of the needs and aspirations specific to the local/regional time and context.
Inheriting a common history, the architecture of this region defines its identity today by making renewed use of local resources and by taking a critical stance with respect to international mainstream trends. For this reason we feel the need for a thematic exhibition.
The open call responds to the constant need to identify the most recent examples of quality architecture. Targeting both emerging offices and well-established practitioners, it is a public request which gives the opportunity to outline a complete, and thus more relevant image of the architecture built in the last 5 years in Central and Eastern Europe. This request is also open to experiment and innovation.
Submission of the projects following the public call: 11th April 2013
