Estonian Week
Budapest, Debrecen, Szeged – Hungary

The traditional Estonian Week is held in Hungary, organized for the 8th time by the Estonian Institute in Hungary in co-operation with the universities of Szegedi and Debrecen. The festival takes place in three cities: Budapest, Szegedi and Debrecen.
The programme includes screenings of internationally acclaimed Estonian films, Flo Kasearu’s exhibition in Budapest, Priit Pärn’s and Olga Pärn’s exhibition in Szegedi, an architecture exhibition in Debrecen, the presentation of Tõnu Õnnepalu’s book Mandala and a concert by Mari Kalkun and Runorun in Budapest and Szegedi.
Maarja Kangro’s short story The Fellow (Stipendiaat) about the international reception of Estonian films will be published for the guests of the film programme. You can also taste Estonian dishes at the restaurant Kazimir.
In addition to screenings, there will also be meetings with directors. This time, actress Laura Peterson (In the Crosswind) and director Andres Maimik (Cherry Tobacco) have been invited.
The film programme of the Estonian Week will be opened by the head of the Estonian Institute, Karlo Funk.
