The structure of MÉSZ had been based on the management, boards and disciplinary council as late as the post-war era, with close cooperation that was a firm foundation allowing for settling and managing both artistic/cultural issues and the representation of interests taking on new and new tasks. These three pillars basically served the functions to manage the internal administrative/economic, professional/cultural and representational issues of the organisation. The activities of MÉSZ thave been adjusted to the objectives defined in the Statutes and thus can be divided into two categories, covering cultural and representative tasks. The cultural activities were primarily realized as those of the above-mentioned boards, such as organizing programmes and events, study tours, significant buildings associated with members of the association, professional debates and lectures, Hungarian and international exhibitions. The so-called Disciplinary Council was an institution meant to officially represent architects as a profession, which was also defined in the statutes with characteristics of a chamber.
