Water-filled Glass is a new glass technology that can be used as window glass or as a complete curtain wall; for roofs, it can be installed as skylights, glass skylights or even as complete glass roofs. The technological innovation is a layer of water flowing in a closed system between the layers of the insulated glass panel, in order to improve the energy consumption and acoustics of buildings and increase the thermal comfort of interiors. The technology has been developed by three architectural engineers, Dr. Mátyás Gutai, Abdolfazl Ganji Kheybari and Dániel Schinagl, who are the founders of the start-up Water-Filled Glass Limited. The company’s mission is to innovate to provide buildings with unlimited use of glass, bypassing the compressive stresses of standard insulated glass and providing maximum access to natural sunlight and views, all without harming the planet or polluting the environment.
