Public Awards on 15th March 2024
On the occasion of the anniversary of the 1848-49 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence, awards were presented to outstanding artists and scientists at the Houses of Parliament and the Vigadó in Pest. In total forty prize-winners were awarded, including architects and interior designers.
Ferenc Salamin, Miklós Ybl Prize-winning architect, full member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, was awarded with Kossuth Prize in recognition of his design work for the continuation of the tradition of organic-regional architecture.
Frigyes Philipp Kós Károly Prize-winning architect, associate professor, president of the Pest County Chamber of Architects, chief architect of Kismaros, former chief architect of Vác, Hatvan and Esztergom, former president of the National College of Architects, was awarded the Order of Merit of Hungary, civilian category.
Mihály Hefkó DLA, interior architect, winner of the Miklós Ybl and Noémi Ferenczy awards, full member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, associate professor at the Department of Architecture and Design of the Budapest Metropolitan University.
Tamás Németh architect, managing director and chief designer of Kima Studio Architecture and Engineering Office Ltd., was awarded the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit.
András József Trautsch, interior designer, received the Noémi Ferenczy Award in recognition of his outstanding work in the field of industrial design.
