Gedeon Richter Nyrt Community and Office Building, Debrecen

Launched in 2012 on the margins of Debrecen, the Gedeon Richter Biotechnological Plant represents the latest pharmaceutical technology. Next to the production hall, a laboratory, a building to provide energy and a reception building open on all sides was also built on the site. Parallel with its growth, an office and community building was also needed for the various functions which was built after designs by Artonic architects. Rooms and new communal spaces have also been contained here to meet the increasing demands for offices on this expanding site. In the future, an office block extendable in two stages may be necessary to contain smaller and larger offices and conference rooms for administrative and executive activities. All this had to be adjusted to community spaces so that these two zones make up a unit and are still able to operate and maintain separately and independently of each other. This is how the spatial duality playing with architectural masses was born, which comprises a flatter basic structure moved out of the plane towards the street both horizontally and vertically, and a regular prism seated on it to contain the office block. As for the extension required, the base block can be pulled further on and on top of this the existing office wing may essentially be reproduced.
