The official title of the conference is „The international impact and reception of the oeuvre of Imre Makovecz”. Reaching well beyond this actual topic, the event was the ceremony of commemoration and also the name-giving ceremony of a most representative hall in Vigadó. The architect who passed away just four years ago, in 2011, and had always been very active in public life would have been 80 years old on the very day of the conference. This dual content was also an unambiguous message saying that his oeuvre is far from being complete regarding it intellectually, concerning its social influences or the realized houses that his oeuvre comprises.
